Condition Survey |
- What to survey (Object to be surveyed)
- (1) Overseas-operated ships (including temporary oversea-operated ships)
- (2) Ships designated by the association, such as special working ships, among domestic-operated ships
- Survey (Inspection) Interval
- (1) In case of new and re-subscription: before the commencement of insurance
- (2) In case of continued subscription
- ① Oil tankers (ships whose age is over 15 years and whose type is persistent, non-persistent and chemical cargo (화종) ships) shall be surveyed every year
- ② Cargo ships (ships whose age is over 15 years and whose subscription amount is over US$10 million) shall be surveyed annually
- (3) Overseas-operated ships with changing sailing zone: shall be surveyed before sailing abroad
- Survey fee: borne by the association (the limit is KRW 1.2 million for domestic survey and KRW 2 million for overseas survey)

- Survey format
- Association format or format approved by the association
- Surveyor
- Surveyors registered in the government, surveyors designated by the association (KR, KST and so on)
- In case of shipowner’s liability protection and indemnity (P&I) Insurance, an exception to the Condition Survey is allowed
- New subscription: in case that a temporary sailing survey of ship classification has been carried out (including KST), the Condition Survey shall be suspended only for the voyage specified in the certificate.
- Acknowledgment of exception to Towing Survey
- ① In case that the towing force specified in the towing force certificate or the tugboat sailing survey certificate to be changed is greater than the total resistance on the report of floating dock (barge) when the barge (floating dock) inspected by the Towing Survey is towed within the coast of the Republic of Korea by another tugboat within the validity period of the survey report.
- ② In case of towing in the coastal waters of the Republic of Korea to avoid natural damages caused by typhoons or tsunamis
- ③ In case that general floating docks (barges) (usage standard on ship survey certificate) operating within limited areas (construction areas designated for sailing and by the association approval) are towing in the same area
